Your Questions, Answered
The OT Table is private pay only at this time. This allows us to provide flexible scheduling, personalized care, and treatment plans that are not limited by insurance restrictions. We are happy to provide superbills upon request so you can submit for possible out of network reimbursement.
If I am not in network with your provider, I can provide you with a monthly, signed, itemized receipt that you may submit to your provider for reimbursement. This is called a superbill and I can also assist you with navigating the process! (also, these reimbursements go directly to you and payments applied to your deductibles are also applied)
What to ask your insurance:
“My provider uses the following CPT codes. Can you check coverage for each of these?”
• 97530 – Therapeutic activities, 1:1 sessions (in 15-minute increments)
• 97165, 97166, 97167 – Occupational therapy evaluations (low, moderate, and high complexity)
I also accept private pay in the form of FSA and HSA payments that you can utilize for therapy visits.
Typical treatment sessions are approximately 60 minutes long, which includes 50 minutes dedicated to hands on treatment and 5-10 minutes for caregiver education and consultation.
Every family wonders how long it will take for their child or loved one to make progress with feeding or self care goals and when they can stop therapy. Unfortunately, there is no clear answer to this! The duration of therapy is dependent on many factors including the level of anxiety a child has, oral motor skill deficits and resolution of skills, the intensity of therapy, home carry over, and the child’s own innate personality. At the OT Table I strive to empower families with practical, hands on strategies and assistance to make gains in progress. I have taken time to learn innovative techniques and consider life long learning part of the process of being an excellent therapist. My experience and education, paired with thoughtful family involvement and carryover, lead to faster progress and good outcomes.
Your first session is designed to help you and your child feel comfortable. We begin with a brief check in to review any updates since the evaluation. From there, I will observe natural mealtime or play routines, introduce gentle strategies, and model hands on techniques that support your child’s goals. You will be involved the entire time so you understand what I am doing and why. At the end of the session, you will receive clear takeaways and simple steps to try at home before our next visit.
Typical ages seen for feeding therapy can be anywhere from 1 year to young adult.
I understand many clinics are quoting long waitlists at this time just to schedule an evaluation. I try not to maintain a waitlist and get you on the schedule right away. This may mean booking up to 12 weeks in advance, but this approach allows me to prioritize seeing your child quickly.
At this time, The OT Table provides services in patient homes, via telehealth, or at a community location where appropriate. I hope to have an office in the next year!
I will need a referral from your or your child’s doctor indicating the need for an occupational therapy evaluation and treatment. Feeding disorders (R63.39), autism (F84.0), developmental delay (R62.0), avoidant restrictive food intake disorder or ARFID (F50.82), and developmental disorder of oral function (F82.2) are the most common diagnoses and ICD 10 codes if they ask.
I accept cash, check, or credit card payments. Payment is due prior to each session.
